You may remember when Rowan had the pleasure of getting to meet and hang out with some amazing firemen in New Orleans last Summer, when he was there at the Kidd's Kids Golf Tournament in July.
He made a real connection with those guys. A few weeks later, they even ended up making him an honorary fireman with a real uniform and badge and everything. You have never seen a little boy so honored and excited in his life.
Then, they went way above and beyond and spent several months fundraising for his charity, the Rowan Jameson Windham Foundation, sending him a check for over $3000! Because they worked so hard to raise this money to help other kids like Rowan, we decided to put some of those funds back into their own community. So, we are proud to announce that this month, when Rowan returns to New Orleans for the Kidd's Kids Golf Tournament again, he will be taking one morning to join those amazing firemen and deliver toys, games, art supplies, blankets, and chapsticks to over 115 patients at the Oschner Hospital for Children in New Orleans.
Rowan and I purchased coloring books and crayons, playdoh sets, games, window markers, magazines, card games, dice, puzzles, doodle books, bracelet making kits, bubble sets, glow sticks, blankets, chapsticks, infant/toddler toys, super hero capes/masks, journals and pens, etc.
We are very excited about this collaboration between the Rowan Jameson Windham Foundation and the Firemen from the Terrytown F.D. and the Marrero Ragusa F. D. and cannot wait to share pictures after we deliver the gifts to the Child Life Department of the Oschner Hospital for Children in New Orleans in just two weeks.
And to think, it all started when one little boy met a real life hero...
who ended up calling him his own personal hero...
But you know...
In my book...
they both are!
